You Can Repair a Trampoline

AUTHOR: Neal Preston

Repair A Trampoline
Hopefully you have purchased a well-made, well-constructed trampoline. If so, you should not have to be faced with the necessity of repairing it any time soon. However, even the best trampolines occasionally could malfunction, and so it would be valuable for you to know a little about what’s involved if you do have to repair a trampoline. Trampolines are expensive pieces of equipment, and if you’ve made the investment in one for your family, you’ll want to maintain it and fix it if necessary.

Because your trampoline is an outdoor piece of equipment, there will be a certain amount of wear and tear the longer you own it. Additionally, the weather is always a factor, no matter where you live. Trampolines usually do not need much repair, especially if you take proper care of yours. If you find that you do need to repair your trampoline, however, you’ll want to be prepared beforehand. This means you will want to make sure you have the right tools and materials on hand and then have a good idea of how to use them.

So, what are the necessary tools you’ll need to repair a trampoline? Well, if the mat is worn or exhibiting a tear, you’ll need to research places that can repair it, or in some cases, you’ll just have to order a replacement mat. If the elastic is wearing out, perhaps your local tailor can fix it. If the frame is bent, or worse, actually broken, it’s not the end of the world. You have a good chance of finding repair parts at your local sporting goods store. It’s possible to purchase repair parts over the internet, too, these days. And if a spring breaks on your trampoline, you can repair it yourself with a simple wrench, or you can find replacement springs at your local hardware store.

You’ll want to educate your family members on taking good care of your trampoline, so you can hopefully avoid the entire issue of trampoline repair. Your children should know that this is not just an expensive toy for them to mess around on. Each person who plans to enjoy the trampoline will need to be responsible for taking proper care around it, so that you won’t find yourself having to repair a trampoline when you’d rather be doing something else, and so that injuries won’t happen.

Some organizations, like the American Academy of Pediatrics, don’t believe trampolines should be used in home settings at all, because of the risk of injury. Because of this, you’ll want to extra vigilant about caring for your equipment so that it not only lasts a long time, but also will be used safely by your precious children and their friends.
