When to Replace Your Trampoline Mat

AUTHOR: Hubert Rice

Trampoline Mat
Trampolines are very well designed, sturdy pieces of equipment; especially if you are careful to purchase one from a reputable dealer, you can expect your trampoline to last for years. However, you’ll want to be prepared in the event that a part breaks or eventually wears out. Since the trampoline sits outside and also most likely gets heavy use, weather and wear and tear do occur.

One of the primary parts to be prepared to eventually replace is the trampoline mat. While these mats are made of extremely strong material and are meant to provide many hours of fun, eventually they will wear out. Or your trampoline mat could develop a tear or a hole. As soon as you notice signs of any kind of wear and tear, you’ll want to take the necessary steps to repair or replace your mat. You don’t want to procrastinate about something like this. Waiting could mean that someone you love could become injured, and you want to prevent this at all costs.

Where to Find Replacement Trampoline Mats

When you first purchase your trampoline, make sure you carefully record all the important information about the manufacturer as well as the model and serial number of your trampoline. You’ll want to file this away in a safe place, so years later when you are faced with a worn out trampoline mat, you’ll be able to easily access the proper information.

The manufacturer of your trampoline usually has a replacement parts in stock, so they are the best place to contact. This way, too, you’ll be sure to get the correct trampoline mat for your equipment, since there are lots of different sizes and styles of trampolines, and slight variations between the different brand names. You will want to be sure that you replace your mat with one that fits properly, because an improperly fitting trampoline mat can lead to accidents and perhaps even other parts on your trampoline breaking.

You should be able to have the new trampoline mat delivered right to your door; just make sure you know ahead of time what kind of shipping costs will be charged, etc. It should only take you a week or two at the most to get your new mat, which will come with detailed instructions on how to install it.

If for some reason, you do not know how to contact the particular manufacturer of your mat, or if by chance that company is no longer in business, don’t panic. The thing to do here is to contact a sporting goods store in your area and explain your situation. They should be able to find a replacement trampoline mat that will work for your trampoline.

There are also sources on the Internet who specialize in trampoline parts and service. These are good resources also for you to contact to see if they have the mat you require. Again, you’ll want to make sure you know all the shipping details, as this factors into the price.

However, price should not be the issue when you are deciding to replace your trampoline mat. Your trampoline is an investment that you want to protect, and above all, your family’s safety must come first.
