Time to Buy a Trampoline?
AUTHOR: Caroline Bexton
Trampoline sales are on the rise, and rising steadily. More and more families are becoming aware of the health benefits that a backyard trampoline can provide. Of course there are serious safety concerns as well, but as long as you are aware of these and take the proper precautions, all in all, buying a trampoline can be a wonderful family investment.
Once you make the decision to buy a trampoline, you are smart to shop around before buying the first trampoline or the cheapest trampoline you see on the market. Whatever trampoline you choose to buy, it is a sizeable investment and you’ll want to make sure you get the best trampoline for your money, one that is sure to meet the needs of your family.
First, you’ll need to decide on what kind of trampoline you would like to have. There are different sizes – anything from the mini trampolines that are quite small in diameter, all the way up to the larger backyard sizes that average 13 or 14 feet in diameter. Additionally, there are different shapes to choose from, which you’ll discover as you research and eventually buy a trampoline.
Then there are other decisions to make. Should you consider purchasing an enclosure to go with your trampoline? What about a cover? You’ll want to make sure that you look into purchasing extra repair parts as an extra insurance, too. When you buy a trampoline, depending on the make and model, there may be other accessories that will be appealing and it may be worth purchasing everything at one time.
Where to buy a trampoline
A good place to do your homework is on the Internet. Here you can read about the different types of trampolines and the various features. You can shop around to get an idea of the range of prices out there. Of course, you can also pay a visit to your local sporting goods store; here you can hopefully talk to a knowledgeable salesperson and you’ll also be able to see a range of trampolines up close and personal. If you do decide to buy from a local retailer, you’ll save on shipping costs. On the other hand, you’ll then have to haul it home, whereas if you do buy a trampoline online, it will ship directly to you. You might not be able to find all the brands you’d like locally either.
When the big day arrives, and you are the proud owner of a brand-new trampoline, you’ll want to make sure everyone in the family understands how important safety is. Establish some firm guidelines about the use of the trampoline and set up some strict consequences for violating them. Trampolines can be lots of fun, but can turn into your worst nightmare if someone gets seriously hurt on yours.
