The Benefits of Owning a Garden Trampoline

With childhood obesity on the rise today, the more active your children can be, the better. There are plenty of great sports activities you can sign your kids up for, and then spend a fair amount of your time chauffeuring them to and fro. Wouldn’t it be nice to find a way for them to use their excess energy right in your own backyard? Enter the garden trampoline! Here’s a great way for everyone in the family to play together. At the same time, bouncing and jumping on a trampoline is a very efficient way to exercise. There are many benefits to owning a garden trampoline.
Let’s look at some of these benefits. Your children will be strengthening their limbs while they have a great time jumping on the trampoline. They’ll be out in the fresh air, which is a welcome relief from all those hours spent playing video games and watching TV, to say nothing of the hours most kids spend surfing on the Internet.
While they are having this lighthearted fun, they’ll be improving their coordination and balance, and this will have a positive effect on their self-confidence and their self-esteem. Their muscle tone will improve, and they’ll be burning lots of calories. As they learn to do simple tricks on the garden trampoline, they will have a new sense of accomplishment, and this might lead them to try other sports they might not have previously considered. The trampoline is good for height and depth perception, too, as well as helping to develop their spatial awareness.
While they are engaged with others in playing on the trampoline, they will be learning to get along with others, and the importance of taking turns (which will also teach them patience). It’s not a good idea to have more than one child jumping at a time, so they will learn to be considerate of others while they wait for their turn.
Adults are not left out of the equation by any means either. Because jumping on a garden trampoline can be an aerobic workout, you’ll notice many positive benefits if you use yours on a regular basis. It’s great for weight loss, lowering of blood pressure, increasing energy and flexibility, toning your muscles, having a positive effect on your joints, and greatly benefiting your heart and lungs. Additionally, the up and down movement that jumping on the trampoline provides cleanses your whole lymphatic system, flushing out toxins with every jump. It will stimulate your digestive system, too. Using a garden trampoline for your daily exercise is every bit as effective, if not more so, than running on a treadmill – and a whole lot less boring!
So you can see that owning a garden trampoline can prove to be very beneficial to everyone in the family. You’ll want to exercise safety when using one, and always supervise your children, but you can expect to enjoy hours of happy, healthy fun!
