Replacing a Trampoline Part

AUTHOR: Hubert Rice

Trampoline Part
If you purchase a trampoline from a reputable manufacturer, you can expect your equipment to be well designed, well made, and created to provide many years of enjoyment for your family. However, even the best trampolines eventually will need some type of repair or a replacement part.

Should a trampoline part break on your equipment, don’t jump to the conclusion that you will need to replace the entire trampoline. Most dealers have trampoline parts for sale, and it is not all that difficult to perform any necessary repairs. Of course, there are some instances where your trampoline might not be worth fixing. This is especially true if you have not invested in a quality trampoline and instead have tried to go for a bargain. But if you have spent good money on a high-quality trampoline, you’ll want to try first to replace the damaged trampoline part and save your investment.

What Trampoline Parts Are Replaceable?

Even the best trampolines will eventually show some wear and tear because they are outside pieces of equipment that are continually exposed to the elements. The sun, wind, and rain all do their part in a trampoline or a trampoline part eventually wearing out. Normal use, too, eventually will cause certain parts to break or wear out. But if you follow the recommendations for taking good care of your trampoline, you can expect your trampoline to remain in good condition for quite some time.

In the event of your trampoline needing a repair, you’ll want to be prepared ahead of time so you know what to expect, and so that the fun doesn’t have to stop for long.

What parts on your trampoline might need repair? The springs are a common trampoline part that might break or wear out, and you should be able to easily obtain replacement springs from your local retailer or online dealer. It’s a good idea to purchase these before you need them, so that should a spring break, you can immediately replace it.

Another part of your trampoline that will eventually need to be replaced or repaired is the mat itself. The material used to make the mats is usually a very strong polypropylene – an extremely durable and flexible material that is designed for hard use and long years of wear and tear. However, your mat might develop a tear or a hole, and here instead of replacing the entire mat, you might be able to patch it using a special repair kit from the dealer. Depending on the extent of the tear, however, you might be better off replacing the entire mat. This is one of the largest trampoline parts you’ll have to consider – the other being the frame.

If you have an older trampoline, there will come a time when it’s sensible and safer to buy a whole new trampoline. Consider this if yours is over ten years old especially.
