Owning a High Jump Trampoline

AUTHOR: Irene McGinty

High Jump Trampoline
No matter how many of your neighbors and friends have recently purchased a high jump trampoline, the question to ask yourself is whether such a purchase is right for you and for your family.

First of all, are you ready to invest the money in this piece of equipment? Trampolines come in a range of prices, from what you might deem “cheap” to the very top of the line expensive models. While it isn’t necessary to buy the most expensive high jump trampoline you can find, it’s generally not a good idea to go to the other extreme and buy a bargain basement one either. Safety is of utmost concern with high jump trampolines, and in many instances, you get what you pay for.

Next, can your backyard accommodate a large high jump trampoline? The most common models are anywhere from 13 to 15 feet in diameter, and if you have a smaller backyard, you’ll have to decide if it’s worth it to you to have it dominate the scenery. Also, you’ll want to make sure that you have a large enough flat area to place the trampoline on. Some really high jump trampolines are truly high – these might need a ladder (which is usually included in the purchase price). Again, the size of your yard might make a difference here.

Another decision to make is where to purchase your trampoline. Should you buy from a local retailer? Or would it be better and more efficient for you to purchase your high jump trampoline over the Internet. This way, it will be delivered right to your door. On the other hand, it’s nice to be able to see the merchandise you are actually getting and be able to talk to a knowledgeable salesperson about the pros and cons of the different features.

Responsibilities of Owning a High Jump Trampoline

As stated earlier, safety is a very crucial issue with high jump trampolines. There have been far too many incidences of injury and you certainly don’t want your children or their friends to be hurt by something designed to be fun and entertaining. So if and when you purchase a trampoline, you’ll want to make sure you can commit to the responsibilities that go along with owning one.

First of all, you’ll never want your children to be out on the trampoline unsupervised. Adult supervision is really a key requirement to ensuring the safety of all who use the trampoline.

You might consider purchasing an enclosure to go around your high jump trampoline. This will help your children stay on the trampoline and not bounce off onto the grass, potentially hurting themselves. This is one accessory that is worth the price.
